Our Department is committed to providing students with the skills, knowledge and values of global leaders.
 
We use various methodologies to build a strong foundation in science, and to develop a scientific literacy in students that will prove essential in their future lives. We have well-equipped laboratories in which students develop their  practical skills and conduct scientific investigations.
 
Other activities are designed to encourage creativity and to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. Assignments and projects are all structured to meet the Learning Outcomes for the sciences, and to promote the development of higher order cognitive skills.
 
We use ICT as an integral part of our teaching practice, and we are continually looking for ways to improve proficiency and stay abreast with new  developments in technology.
