English is the bridging language across diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and across all learning areas in the academic and co-curriculum. We strive to develop students’ effectiveness as listeners, speakers, readers, viewers, writers and creators.
 
We provide an engaging, supportive atmosphere which fosters the growth of each student. Through a progressively challenging study of language and literature, we cover a variety of styles, genres, and periods. Our collaborative approach allows students to use English as a vehicle for grappling with universal issues, and the challenges which will impact their lives as mature citizens of South Africa.
 
The curriculum is enriched through the use of appropriate technology, and by a variety of extra-curriculum activities such as Festivals and Olympiads.
